Interior view of ArtHouse with patrons dining at tables, floral centerpieces, a decorative wall, on a dark background with a neon sign that says "Down the".

Situated in the heart of the CBD, The ArtHouse Hotel exudes inner-city retro chic. The heritage-listed venue dates back to 1836 when it served as The School of Arts. Now it is home to four bars, a restaurant and a function space which regularly hosts life drawing classes, cabaret nights and photography workshops.

a little bit about

Rabbit
Bar

Close-up of two fish tacos with fried fish, purple cabbage, and sauce on newspaper-style paper, held by a person's hand, against a colorful mural background.

Very recently refurbished, Rabbit bar gives a gentle nod to The Mad Hatters tea party and accepts that all the best people are a little mad. This space is our answer to the after work drinks local, the place to share cocktails and grazing boards with the girls or beers and burgers with the boys. There is always entertainment a plenty in this classy new space within The ArtHouse Hotel.
